Fun Summer Activities!

I was browsing on a few sites for some fun activities for Jaxon in this warmer weather (finally!) and these were some of my favorites:

1) Drive Through Car and Bike Wash

6) Homemade Ice Cream

The "Drive Through Car Wash" sounds absolutely adorable and like a fun way for the little ones to stay cool! I'll let you know how it goes!

And P.S. Adam is still working on his vacation list. Why do men make things more difficult than they have to be?! ;)

Dusting Off My Negotiation Skills!

Today, during a free moment as the kids were enchanted by Dora the Explorer, I emailed Adam a list of possible locations for our next couples vacation. We are looking to go somewhere for a 4 day weekend, so we are trying to stay in the US.

A snippet of our conversation.

Me: "Hawaii?"

Adam: "Too hot and I don't know how to hula."

Me: "Las Vegas?"

Adam: "Smells like Kim Kardashian and vodka." (oh, the things that come out of his mouth!)

Obviously, after this brief exchange, I realized how "not in the mood" Adam was to talk about this. How can someone not be in the mood to talk about ice cold margaritas and laying on the beach with absolutely no business meetings or play dates to run off to?!?

So, I nicely asked (or ordered) him to come up with a list of his top five choices of vacation spots and hand it over by tomorrow morning. So far my top spots are : 

-Tampa

-Las Vegas

-Hawaii ( most preferably Honolulu or Oahu )

-San Diego

-San Francisco

I will be very interested to see what his list is as he has already X'd two of my choices. I am fully open to negotiations... as long as sun, a beach, and a frozen, fruity drink is included.

Hey there!

Sorry for the short absence! May was a crazy month in the Pierce household but luckily, things have settled down finally! I was recently scrolling Pinterest and found this cute idea for our next outdoor get togethers!

I love the color combination as well as the use of mason jars as a drinking glass! I think it would give a cozy feel to any outdoor gathering! I'm hoping I would be able to find a kid friendly plastic version for the younger ones. 

Can't wait for the warmer weather (and less of this rain!)! 

David Yurman has officially re-won me over!

Hello All!

It has been a few weeks since I have written but I have been a busy lady planning our next family trip! I wanted to share a recent re-discovery of my love for David Yurman jewelry.

I have a few basic pieces from previous collections but a recent article in InStyle inspired me to check out the new website.

Here are a few of my favorites! (I've already been leaving print outs around the house for Adam. Surely  his sock drawer and  taped to his desktop monitor aren't too obvious? ;)

Anniversary Getaway!

This past Sunday, April 7th, Adam and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary.. whew, we made it! ;) After a disastrous first date (including me knocking over a plate of pasta in his lap.. yikes!), six years together, two beautiful children, and a fur baby named Bodie, our relationship has never been stronger.

I woke up Friday morning to a note simply saying to "pack a bag for 2 nights and be ready by 4". And of course, I ended up with a rolling suitcase and a duffel for shoes- Always be prepared! A limo was in our driveway promptly at 4, with Adam inside waiting with a dozen white roses. Even after I got in the limo, Adam still refused to tell me where we were going and kept saying it was a surprise. (Which is funny because he HATES surprises!)

We ended up at a gorgeous bed and breakfast in East Hampton, NY. From the stunning lavender garden to the hot tub with a waterfall, I was blown away! I am continually spoiled by this man in every way possible but he is the most generous with his love. I definitely hit the jackpot with this one :)

Came across this article  "5 things you should never throw away" while I was browsing today! 

Interesting ideas but I'm not totally convinced on using old blue jeans for Christmas stockings...

Jaxon turns 4!!

Last Saturday, Jaxon turned 4! It is crazy to think how much has changed in these past four years but I would not change a single thing. Being a mother is one of my proudest achievements and I cherish every day I have with them.

Instead of a big party like last year, we took a trip to the Central Park Zoo for Jaxon's big day! Sea lions were a big favorite for Sophia, while Jaxon adored the monkeys!

   

We finished the day with a brownie zoo cake Adam's mother made and cuddling up on beanbags in the movie room to watch The Wizard of Oz.

Perfect ending to a perfect day!
